Waterloo police have identified the victims involved in a shooting that left one person dead and two others wounded on Sunday (July 17, 2016).

Authorities said Otavious Brown, 21, of Waterloo, died after he was shot once in the chest. The other victims, Dewan Campbell, 17, and Aundrey Roberts, 22, both of Waterloo, were treated at a local hospital and released.

According to Waterloo police spokesman Dave Mohlis, officers were called to Unity Point Health-Allen Hospital shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday. When they arrived, police discovered that the three shooting victims were brought to the emergency room by private vehicle.

Mohlis said investigating officers determined the shooting took place in the 800 block of Logan Ave. in Waterloo. Police secured the area and found evidence that the incident occurred in front of a home at 817 Logan Ave.

While investigating the shooting, officers were informed that Brown died from the gunshot injury. His murder is the first in Waterloo this year.
