It's been six years since Kirsten Mundell of Spanaway, Washington lost her father. Mundell was only 16 years old when her father, a police officer, was killed in the line of duty.

She did everything possible to honor her father on her wedding day. A chair containing a photo of her dad and his uniform jacket was set up in the front row and her gown was laced up in the back with a blue ribbon, which not only covered the "something blue" aspect, but also served as a way to honor her fathers sacrifice.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Detective Don Jones, a close family friend, walked Mundell down the isle and also danced with her during the father-daughter dance. It was during that dance that the rest of the police department stepped in. See their tearful surprise for the bride here.
