One Sent To Jail After Single Vehicle Accident

One man was sent to the Black Hawk County Jail early this morning after a single vehicle accident on La Porte Rd.

Eary this morning around 2:00 A.M., Black Hawk County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 6800 block of La Porte Road, in Washburn, on a report of a single vehicle rollover accident.

George Patti, age 25, of La Porte City, was traveling south bound on La Porte Road in a 2009 Toyota passenger car, when he lost control and entered the opposite lane of traffic. The vehicle struck a mail box in front of 6735 La Porte Road and continued into the east ditch. It then struck the driveway of 6801 La Porte Road where it then went airborne.

The vehicle rolled end over end coming to a rest on its top in front of 6819 La Porte Road. Patti was able to free himself from the vehicle prior to emergency responders arriving on scene. Patti was treated on scene for minor injuries. He was then transported to the Black Hawk County Jail and charged with Operating While Intoxicated.
