Old Dominion took the stage on Friday night (Sept. 8) just a few hours after the news of both Troy Gentry’s and Don Williams‘ deaths broke that afternoon. The band took a few moments out of their set that evening to honor both of the late country artists with covers of a couple of their most famous songs.

Readers can press play above to watch Old Dominion cover Montgomery Gentry‘s “My Town.” The title track of the duo’s third studio album, “My Town” was released as a single in June of 2002; it peaked at No. 5 on the country charts.

Below, readers can see Old Dominion cover Williams’ “Tulsa Time.” Released as a single in 1978, the song became Williams’ eighth No. 1 on the country charts. “Tulsa Time” was written by Danny Flowers and has been covered by Eric Clapton and Reba McEntire, among others.

#donwilliams got us through a lot of bar shows. Had to dust this one off too last night. #RIP #tulsatime

Both Williams and Gentry died on Friday; news of their deaths came within an hour or so of each other. Williams was 78 years old and died following a brief illness. Gentry, 50, was killed in a helicopter crash in New Jersey.

In March of 2016, Williams announced his retirement; he most recently released a new album, Reflections, in 2014 and spent much of 2015 on the road. Gentry, meanwhile, was scheduled to play a concert with duo partner Eddie Montgomery in New Jersey on Friday night; according to Average Joes Entertainment, the duo’s record label, Montgomery Gentry had recently completed a new album. The helicopter crash in which Gentry died also killed the helicopter’s pilot, James Evan Robinson.

Funeral arrangements for both Williams and Gentry have yet to be announced.
