The Oelwein Community School Board has announced four semi-finalists to fill the post of school superintendent.

Current head administrator Dan Diercks announced late last year that he is resigning, effective July 30th.

The list of finalists includes an Oelwein principal, two principals from other Northeast Iowa schools, and a superintendent from Minnesota.

They are:

Oelwein High School principal Josh Ehn;
Patrick Bollman, the principal at Briggs Elementary in Maquoketa;
Litchfield, Minnesota School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Frazier;
and Western Dubuque High School principal Dave Hoeger.

Each candidate will interview with the Oelwein School board and focus groups, which consist of administrators, support staff, and classroom teachers next week. The public is invited to meet the candidates, with receptions each day from 4:30-5:30pm at the RAMS center.

On Monday (March 13), Dave Hoeger will interview; on Tuesday, it will be Dr. Daniel Frazier; Patrick Bollman will meet Wednesday; and Josh Ehn will interview on Thursday.

The Oelwein School board is looking to appoint a new superintendent by March 24th.
