Oelwein Police Investigate Accident, Burglary, Theft…

A Northeast Iowa motorist is being charged with causing a traffic accident in Oelwein.

It happened just before 3:30am Saturday (Aug. 19) in the 400 block of 1st Avenue NE. An SUV driven by Alyshia Straw, collided with a parked car owned by Kimberlynn Dayton. No injuries were reported. Straw was charged with Failure to Maintain Control, and Failure to Secure Against Liability.

An Oelwein man has been arrested following an incident late Friday night. Just before midnight, 30 year old John Kaub was taken into custody for Public Intoxication-Enhanced-3rd Offense, and Interference with Official Acts. The incident took place in the 100 block of 3rd Avenue SE in Oelwein.

Oelwein Police are investigating a Burglary and a Theft. The burglary was reported Friday morning from the 100 block of 1st Avenue NW, and the theft was reported Friday afternoon from the 300 block of 2nd Avenue NW.
