A man wanted for attempted murder in New Mexico has been living in the Cedar Valley.

Waterloo police arrested Deandre Marquis Stanford, 18, on Thursday (April 23, 2015).

Local authorities said they received notification from Bernalillo County sheriff's officials in Albuquerque, N.M., that they had an active arrest warrant for Stanford on a charge of attempted murder.

According to Waterloo police, officers located Stanford at his residence, 337 Monroe St. He was taken into custody without incident.

Stanford was transported to the Black Hawk County jail, where he is awaiting extradition back to New Mexico.
