A Northeast Iowa man, reported missing following an earthquake in Nepal, has now been found.

30 year old Cole Donahue of New Albin, was less than an hour from the Mt. Everest Base camp Saturday, when the magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck.

The quake caused an avalanche, which buried Donahue and 6 others from his hiking party. All 7 were rescued almost immediately, and no one was injured.

Donahue said that he would have contacted family sooner, however all communications in and out of the mountains have been downed due to the quake.

Donahue is slated to return to the United States on May 2nd.

An estimated 3,600 people have died and over 6,000 injured in the Nepal quake.
