A farmer from northeast Iowa will be the next star on the reality TV show "The Bachelor." The announcement was made this (Wednesday) morning on A-B-C's Good Morning America.

Thirty-two-year-old Chris Soules grew up on a family farm near Arlington in Fayette County and graduated from Iowa State University. He's hoping to find his bride-to-be on the popular TV series. Soules, who gained fame as a "suitor" on the most recent season of The Bachelorette, was asked how he felt when he was asked to star in 19th season of The Bachelor.

"I was humbled, flattered, grateful. I mean, coming from a small town, I never really expected to have this opportunity to be on either show, let alone be the lead on The Bachelor," Soules said. "So, it's been awesome."

As one of the finalists in The Bachelorette, featuring Andi Dorfman, Soules confessed his love for Andi, but was ultimately rejected.

Dorfman told Soules part of the reason she wasn't choosing him was because she "couldn't see herself living in Iowa." According to information from ABC-TV, Chris' three older sisters originally submitted his name for an appearance on The Bachelorette. The air date for the next season of The Bachelor has not yet been announced.
