A Northeast Iowa child, reported missing Wednesday afternoon, has been found safe and sound with the help of numerous agencies.

At about 4pm Wednesday, the Charles City Police Department was notified that a ten year old boy did not come home from school.

The boy was last seen at the "R" Campground in Charles City.

After authorities requested assistance from surrounding agencies, they received help from the Iowa State Patrol, DNR, Floyd County Sheriff, Nashua Police, Charles City Fire, Floyd County Search and Rescue, plus fire departments from Floyd, Nora Springs, Rudd, Colwell, Marble Rock, Rockford, members of the National Guard, Charles City School officials, and many area residents.

The boy, whose name was not released, was found safe at about 8pm last night; he was then reunited with his parents.

Charles City Police also wanted to issue a big "Thank You" to all those who aided in the boy's search.
