You may not have won the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpots this past, but you should still check your tickets. You may have still won something. There were still some big winning tickets sold in Iowa.

A lot of us were stricken with 'Lotto Fever' this past weekend thanks to jackpot teasing us with over one billion dollars paydays. Winning tickets were sold for both the Powerball Jackpot & Mega Millions jackpots. The Powerball winning ticket was sold in New Hampshire. Some luck Floridian bought the Mega Millions winning ticket.

Despite not winning the absurd amount of cash, you still may have won something, so check your tickets. I already have, and since I came to work today, your safe to assume I didn't winning anything to talk about.

"There were 41,829 winning Powerball tickets in Iowa on Saturday, January 6th."

Take for instance George Dickerson of Colfax (pictured above). On Friday (Jan. 5, 2018), Dickerson claimed his $1 million prize Friday at lottery headquarters in Clive. He said the cold weather almost kept him at home, but at the last minute, he decided to go out and buy Powerball tickets on New Year's weekend – and he won a $1 million prize. I could retire on that.

According to the Powerball web site, there were 41,829 tickets that won something. One lucky lotto player matched four numbers and the Powerball. That's worth $50,000, and if they added the Power Play option, a $150,000 check awaits them at the Iowa Lottery office.

The Mega Millions web site states that eight tickets in the United States won $1,000,000, $2,000,000 if they added on the Megaplier. Heck, 1,947,406 won at least $2, and they at least recouped their investment.

  • POWERBALL: 12, 29, 30, 33, 61, Powerball = 26. Power Play = 3x.
  • MEGA MILLIONS: 28, 30, 39, 59, 70, Mega Ball = 10. Megaplier = 3x

Good luck.
