You better check your Powerball tickets because one person in the Hawkeye State got a WHOLE lot richer.

On Saint Patrick's Day (March 17th, 2024) one lucky person won $500,000 after purchasing a Powerball ticket in Central Iowa.

Talk about luck!

The game was actually a Powerball Double Play ticket, and the winner has yet to come forward, according to officials.

According to officials from the Iowa Lottery, the Double Play option has only been available in the Hawkeye State for less than half a year.

The Powerball ticket was bought at a Kwik Star location at 1502 S. Federal Avenue in Mason City.

Whoever bought said ticket matched the first five numbers, but completely missed the Powerball. Those numbers for Sunday, March 17th were 9-11-13-29-69.

The potential prize someone could win if they matched all of these numbers is $10 million. Not too shabby!

No one has come forward yet to claim this huge prize just yet.

If you're Powerball Double Play ticket is this lucky winner, then you've got a few things to think about.

Prizes of $500,000 or more MUST be claimed at the Iowa Lottery Headquarters in Clive. This is located at 13001 University Avenue and the facility is open during the week from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

You can make an appointment to claim the $500,000 and it's actually strongly encouraged!

In Iowa, Powerball Double Play ticket winners have to claim the prize within 180 days of the drawing.
