Investigators have identified the man whose body was found in a burning Waterloo home Tuesday night (Jan. 24, 2017).

When they arrived to extinguish the blaze, firefighters discovered Luong Quang Le, 44, dead inside the two-story house at 815 E. Ridgeway Ave. Officials are trying to determine how Le died and what caused the fire. Investigators are hoping autopsy results will answer both questions.

The autopsy is scheduled for Thursday at the state medical examiner's officer in Ankeny. Waterloo police captain Dave Mohlis said investigators should know what direction the case goes once they receive the preliminary autopsy report, which is expected to be released Thursday afternoon or Friday. The full report generally takes about six weeks to complete.

Waterloo Fire Rescue officials said fire damage was limited to the home's bedroom.
