Luke Bryan Preps for Minor Surgery
Luke Bryan is going back into the operating room for another surgery on his elbow on Wednesday (Feb. 3), but wants fans to know it's minor so they don't worry.
The singer had surgery on a tendon on the outside of his elbow back in March, which he mentioned on Twitter after fans spotted him leaving Vanderbilt’s Bone and Joint physicians group in Nashville donning a cast. He was quick to assure fans he was fine, and this time he’s giving them a heads up.
No official word on what the specific issue is, but it could be chronic tendonitis, which can be common for guitar players. Bryan just wrapped his Crash My Playa concert experience in Mexico, a four-night party featuring Bryan and several other country artists, including Sam Hunt, Dierks Bentley and Brett Eldredge. He also recently added the coveted Chris Stapleton, who co-wrote Bryan's "Drink a Beer," to a couple of select dates — Boston and Dallas — on his upcoming second leg of his Kill the Lights Tour. The 2016 run kicks off May 21 in Atlanta and runs through October, wrapping up in Salt Lake City.
Ever the busy man, Bryan is gearing up to co-host the ACM Awards in April with Bentley, where he is nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Meanwhile, his tune “Home Alone Tonight,” sung with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild, just hit No. 1, making it Bryan’s 15th career chart-topper. The song is even nominated for an ACM award for Vocal Event of the Year.
