Local Man Arrested for Making Threats to Teachers

We now know the name of the man arrested for sending a threatening email that prompted the lockdown of Decorah schools.

42 year old Bruce "Deano" Divers Junior was arrested Monday, charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree harassment, and 1 count of 3rd degree harassment.

Divers allegedly sent an email to a teacher at Carrie Lee Elementary School, stating he would retaliate Monday morning. The retaliation was in reference to a sexual education class, being taught to 4th graders.

He also apparently threatened two other teachers on Facebook.

School officials determined that the threat was a credible one, and put all the school buildings on lockdown.

Classes were held as scheduled Monday, but about half the students at Carrie Lee Elementary were absent, and a total of about one-fourth of the entire student population were kept home by parents.
