Faith based movies seem to be the craze right now. It's been my experience that when the world goes dark people tend to head back to their roots for comfort. 9-11 or I should say 9-12 is a good example of that.

The day after the largest terrorist attack on this great nation, Americans banded together. We went back to church, held hands and prayed together. We became color blind and politics were pushed aside. Prayer took center stage.

Unfortunately, we're back at square one and the world is becoming dark again. All you have to do is watch the news or pay attention to how people are tearing each other apart on social media to see it. We're so focused on our differences that we forget how much we have in common like our faith in God.

It's nice to see good clean wholesome movies at center stage for a change. They're a reminder - a shining light in a time of darkness.

Hollywood has been lighting the candle lately by releasing a string of faith based movies. The latest is coming out this weekend. '90 Minutes In Heaven' is based on the true story of Don Piper.

Piper's car was crushed by a semi when he was on his way home from a conference. Medical personnel said he died instantly. While his body lay lifeless, a minister prayed for him and he miraculously came back to life. It's what happened to his soul while he was out that has captured the attention of Christians around the world.

Here's the trailer for the much anticipated '90 Minutes In Heaven'.

'90 Minutes In Heaven' is just one in the string of faith based movies recently released. 'The War Room' just came out a couple of weeks ago and landed at number one in the box office. The movie explores the power prayer and its effect on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of life.

I've heard so many people say they just need a sign that God exists. Maybe these movies will help you in your search?
