NASCAR driver Kurt Busch will not be charged by the Delaware Attorney General's office in the case of alleged domestic abuse brought by his ex-girlfriend.

Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn's office declined to file charges stemming from a complaint filed last November by Patricia Driscoll.

Busch has been under suspension by NASCAR since two days prior to the running of the Daytona 500. This ends a months long investigation that has kept Busch from competing at any NASCAR sanctioned race.

So when will Busch be allowed to return? That has yet to be determined.

On Monday, NASCAR stated that Busch had agreed to follow the guidelines outlined to begin his reinstatement process.

After the announcement Thursday that no charges would be filed, NASCAR reiterated their previous announcement.

NASCAR is aware of the Delaware Department of Justice announcement today regarding driver Kurt Busch. As we disclosed Monday, he has accepted the terms and conditions of a reinstatement program and is actively participating in the program. Kurt Busch’s eligibility for reinstatement will continue to be governed by that program and the NASCAR Rule Book, though the elimination of the possibility of criminal charges certainly removes a significant impediment to his reinstatement." – NASCAR Official Statement

This weekend NASCAR will be racing in Las Vegas. Currently, Regan Smith is slated to continue filling in for Busch.
