The 2015 IMCA Weekly Racing point season got underway on Friday night at the Farley Speedway with a stellar field of 24 IMCA Late Models headlining the six class program which saw the final checkered flag of the night wave at 10:30 pm.

The Klein Custom Homes IMCA Late Model feature truly saved the very best for last as the fans were treated to a classic battle between the relative newcomer Jerry King of Waterloo and  the veteran Rick Wendling of Independence. Wendling was able to pull along side King on several occasions but was unable to get by the leader.

"I was patient and waited for King to make a minor mistake," Wendling stated. "But he hit his marks every lap and drove a perfect race."

King in victory lane credited his crew for preparing his car and went on to say.

"This is only our second night out on this new car and I think we can get even better."

Jon Merfeld ran up front all race long before settling for third ahead of Jason Rauen and Ron Klein.

The Precision Transmission IMCA Modified main event saw the opening night redraw put Dunkerton, Iowa's Troy Cordes in the third position. Cordes shot by early race leader Mark Schulte and went on to score the 20 lap feature win. Schulte took second, JD Auringer had a fine run in taking third.

The GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Sportmods main event saw Tyler Soppe advance from a tenth position start to overtake early race leader Austin Heacock and go on to score the opening night feature win. Heacock took second at the checkers ahead of Troy Bauer.

The IMCA Stock Car main event was a real fan pleaser as the battle up front was a great one between defending track champion Jerry Miles and Roger Ciesielski. Miles was able to score the win by less than a car length. Phil Holtz crossed under the checkers in third.

Quinton Miller topped the IMCA Hobby Stock main event after a heated battle with Dustin Chapman. Friday night saw the debut of the Micro Mods and Brandon Maitland etched his name in the record books as the first ever feature winner in this new division.

Weekly racing will continue at the Farley Speedway on Friday, May 8th with hot laps at 7 pm, the first race is slated for 7:30 pm.
