Keith Urban is a blazing guitar player in any genre, and it stands to reason that he's not afraid of a good cross-genre cover tune. That includes his latest foray into non-country waters, a take on Marshmello and Bastille's hit "Happier," which he put his own spin on for Spotify Singles.

Take a listen and see what you think:

“The first time I heard 'Happier' it spoke to me lyrically," Urban said in a release. "Underneath that badass track there’s an incredible story of emotional conflict being told. I could really relate to it, and so I set about trying to frame that in my own way.”

Spotify Singles is an ongoing series featuring artists recording original tracks as well as unexpected covers of songs that have inspired them from a wide range of genres.

Urban's 2018 was a career-building year for the 51-year-old musician. His Graffiti U album and world tour helped him become the 2018 CMA Entertainer of the Year, and the 2019 Taste of Country Music Festival headliner's latest album was named one of Taste of Country's 10 best of the year.
