Faith based movies don't usually get a lot of love out of the press, but that doesn't seem to be phasing those of us that are craving them. In fact, they seem to be doing quite well.

For instance the 2008 movie "Fireproof" earned over $33 million on a $500K budget, and 2011's "Courageous", which took in $34.5 million on a $2 million budget. and this year's "War Room" was number one in the box office Labor Day weekend. "War Room," cost $3.5 million to produce and it has earned over $28.7 million so far.

The minute I saw the trailer for this new faith based movie "Woodlawn", I thought to myself, "I can't WAIT to see this!" Woodlawn is about a gifted high school football player who has to embrace his talent and his faith as he battles racial tensions on and off the field.

It's described as a moving and inspirational new film, based on the true story of how love and unity overcame hate and division in early 1970s Birmingham, Alabama. Here's the trailer.

"Woodlawn opens in theaters October 16, 2015 and you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to be parked in a Cedar Valley movie theater munchin' on a big tub of popcorn watching it!
