Vern Jackson edged JD Auringer by a half a car length for the modified win at the Independence Motor Speedway on August 1, 2015.

Jackson worked himself into the lead of the Performance Bodies IMCA Modified main event by lap two. Several early caution periods kept the field tight, but Jackson stood strong at the point.

Auringer started eleventh, and took advantage of those yellow flags to make quick work to get to the second position by lap five. Jackson and Auringer would race side-by-side while they hugged the bottom of the race track. As the duo came to the checkered flag, Auringer was able to get a run off of turn four, but came up just short in trying to steal the win.

Zach Less came to green flag in the fifteenth position, but he dusted off the high side, and started his march forward once the main event was able string a series of green flag laps together. Less settled for third. Patrick Flannagan finished fourth. Ronn Lauritzen was forced to the back due to a lap two caution, but her rebounded for a fifth place finish.

Tyler Droste started tenth in the Budweiser IMCA Late Model A-Main. He made a steady march towards the front. Using the bottom line, the young gun wrestled the lead away from Jerry King while completing lap 19. Droste would race off to the win. Sean Johnson worked past King two laps later. King wrapped up a solid run in third. Brian Hunter and Jon Passick closed out the top five.

During the Burco Sales IMCA Stock Car feature, Phil Holtz put himself atop of the score sheets on lap nine. Roger Ciesieski would try to rattle Holtz in the closing laps, but it was Holtz that would find himself in the Budweiser Victory Lane after the checkered flag flew. Ciesieski come home in second. Jarod Weepie, Kevin Rose, and Jason Hocken wrapped up the rest of the top five.

It was the Olson and Olson show during the Tenacity Graphics IMCA SportMod A-Main. Kyle Olson worked his way by early race leader Matt McCahen while working to complete lap three. After starting eleventh, Tony Olson began challenging McCahen for second on lap four. By the completion of lap five, Tony Olson was running second and battling Kyle Olson for the lead. By lap nine, Tony found himself up front, but Kyle kept applying the pressure. Tony was up for the challenge as he would race off to his fourth straight win at the Independence Motor Speedway. Kyle Olson finished second followed by Alex Zwanzinger, McCahen, and Kyle Bentley.

A “Headhunter Challenge” has been offered to any driver who can stop Tony Olson's win streak. Indee promoter Dana Benning is offering $100 to anyone who can beat Tony Olson. If Olson wins on the next night of racing, the $100 will keep doubling until someone ends the streak. If Tony Olson can win the final four nights of racing, he'll earn the $400 “Headhunter Challenge” bonus for himself. Olson must be running at race-end to claim the bonus money.

It had been two years since Justin Hansen found himself in victory lane. That dry spell ended Saturday night during the Big Daddy Chassis IMCA Hobby Stock feature. Vince Buchholz tried to steal the lead away but settled for second. Point leader Benji Irvine finished third followed by Shawn Kuenen in fourth. Matt White started seventeenth and earned a fifth place finish.

Cole McNeal looked strong as he raced to the win in the RCZ Enterprises Indee Car A-Main.

Next week at the Independence Motor Speedway it is Iowa Donor night featuring the Dale Miller Memorial Race. The Performance Bodies IMCA Modifieds will race a 25-lap $1,000 to A-Main. There will be plenty of prizes to hand to the fans and extra money up for grabs in several classes. Gates open at 4:30 PM, hot laps are set for 6:30 PM with racing to follow.
