With 24 of 36 races completed during the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season, Iowa native Brett Moffit finds himself on top of the NASCAR Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings.

Originally, Moffit only had one NSCS race on his 2015 calendar, and he knew he needed to make the most of his opportunity. That date was March 1 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Filling in for Brian Vickers, Moffitt drove the Michael Waltrip Racing owned number 55 to an eighth place finish. That finish scored him a three-race deal with Front Row Motorsports.

After a few more driver shuffles, the Grimes, IA native landed back at Front Row Motorsports where he has become the regular driver of the number 34 Ford.

Moffitt told Frontstretch.com that it has been difficult bouncing around like he did.

It’s stressful not knowing if you’re going to have a ride next weekend or which ride you’re going to be in. Now, just having a little bit of consistency is nice, but at the same time, now I’m starting to look forward to next year." Brett Moffit via Frontstretch.com

After trailing Jeb Burton most of the 2015 campaign in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year battle, Moffitt moved to position one after this past weekend's race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.

"Our No Escape Ford didn't start out great," Moffitt was quoted in a Front Row Motorsports release about the race at Bristol. "But it was much better at the end, especially when we were in a little bit of clean air.

"It was just hard to pass all night. But it was a good effort by the team and the guys did a good job on pit road," Moffitt added. "We definitely would've had a little bit better finish if we'd hit on the right adjustments a little earlier in the race."

With 12 races left in 2015, it's far from over. The nice thing for Moffitt is that the schedule takes the team to tracks they have already raced at in 2015, and it affords them a great opportunity to improve upon their last trip to each facility.
