The Iowa Hawkeyes, the Iowa State Cyclones, and the Wartburg Knights men’s basketball teams all earned a win on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.

The Iowa Hawkeyes (8-2) beat Alcorn State (1-6), 67-44.  The win was the Hawkeyes' sixth-straight and No. 400 all-time in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Gabriel Olaseni registered 12 points and 10 boards to record his second double-double this season and sixth of his career. Iowa returns to action on Friday (December 12th) when it hosts Iowa State. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:06 p.m. on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

No. 14 Iowa State (6-1) raced out to an early lead and never looked back in a 73-56 victory over UMKC (3-7) Tuesday night in Hilton Coliseum.  Bryce Dejean-Jones led the way with his third 20-point game of the season (22 points) and Monte’ Morris added 13 points in the victory.  The Cyclones travel to Iowa City on Friday (December 12th) to face Iowa in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series. Tipoff is at 7:06 p.m. on BTN.

The Wartburg Knights (6-2) thumped Crossroads (1-12), 94-56. Senior Clay Cook (West Branch) and sophomore Nick Webber (Peosta) recorded double-doubles in the victory for Knights. Cook led all scorers with 21 points and added a career-high 14 rebounds, while Webber had 15 points and career-best 10 rebounds. Wartburg returns to the court Sunday as it travels to Bethany Lutheran for a 4:00 PM game.
