Iowa High School Volleyball Rankings - Thursday, October 16, 2014

Fifteen area teams are featured in the eighth volleyball rankings of the season released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union on Thursday (October 16, 2014). The rankings in Class-1A and -2A are the last of the season.

Janesville and Tripoli both finish the regular season as top five teams in Class-1A, while Nashua-Plainfield returns to the top-15 rankings for the first time since the September 11th poll. The Huskies take the No. 9 spot held by Turkey Valley last week. The Trojans are rated 10th this week.

There is no change among the top eight teams in Class-2A from last week to this week. Dike-New Hartford continues to lead the poll, with Sumner-Fredericksburg second and Grundy Center at No. 7. Wapsie Valley moved up two spots and will begin post-season play as a top-10 team.

Four Northeast Iowa teams are ranked in Class-3A. Sixth-rated Independence is followed by No. 10 La Porte City Union and 11th-rated Iowa Falls-Alden. Also ranked is Center Point-Urbana at No. 15.

In Class-4A, West Delaware remains at No. 2 and Charles City is ranked sixth. Also ranked is Waverly-Shell Rock, which is in the poll for the first time since the week of September 18th.
