Iowa High School Girls Basketball Rankings – 01/29/2015
Five girls high school basketball teams from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa are ranked again in this week’s state-wide poll, released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) today (Thursday, January 29, 2015).
Waverly-Shell Rock (Class-4A) and Crestwood (3A) both moved up in the ratings, improving their positions in a poll that featured little movement among other area teams from last week. Waverly-Shell Rock (17-0) jumped up one spot to No. 5, while the Cadets (13-2) climbed two spots to No. 6.
In Class-2A, Dike-New Hartford (14-2) is the only area team among the top 15. The Wolverines are ranked sixth for the second week in a row.
The Class-1A survey features both Turkey Valley and Janesville, both of whom held their positions from last week. Turkey Valley (17-1) remains 10th in the poll, while the Wildcats (16-1) are ranked at No. 13 once again.
Cedar Falls is the only team from the Cedar Valley and Northeast Iowa that lost its ranking. The Tigers (14-3) were ranked 7th in Class-5A last week, but fell from the top-10 after Tuesday night's 54-44 to Iowa City West.
