Iowa High School Football Rankings – Monday, October 13, 2014
Ten teams from Northeast Iowa are ranked in the latest Iowa high school football poll, released by the Associated Press on Monday (October 13, 2014).
All but two of the area teams are in a different position than where they were ranked a week ago, following the results of games played across the state Friday night.
The biggest shake-up in this week's poll occurred in the eight-player class, where Don Bosco (7-0) regained the top spot after posting its 22nd-straight victory. Janesville (7-0) moved from fifth to third and Central Community (7-0) jumped from sixth to fourth.
Just like the eight-player class, there are a trio of Northeast Iowa teams featured in the Class-A top 10. Gladbrook-Reinbeck (6-1) climbed one spot from 5th to 4th after beating then-No. 3 AGWSR Friday night. The Cougars (6-1) fell three spots in this week's poll following the loss. AGWSR and Nashua-Plainfield (6-1) are now tied for sixth in the rankings.
In Class-1A, South Winneshiek stayed at No. 2. The Warriors (7-0) are ranked behind No. 1 Iowa City Regina which has won 63 of 64 games dating back to the start of the 2010 season.
The Class-2A poll features sixth ranked North Fayette Valley (6-1), which jumped two spots from No. 8 a week ago. The TigerHawks leaped over New Hampton (6-1), which remains at No. 7 this week.
West Delaware is nearing the top of the poll in Class-3A. With two games remaining in the regular season, the second-rated Hawks (7-0) are ranked directly behind poll leader Pella (7-0). They are the only remaining unbeaten teams in the class.
