Independence Wrestling Wins Herb Irgens, Bosco Finishes 3rd

The Independence Mustangs wrestling won the Herb Irgens Invitational besting the 27 team field at OA-BCIG High School in Ida Grove, IA on Saturday, January 24, 2015. The Don Bosco Dons had a strong day as well finishing third.

Independence and Don Bosco took the top two spots in total pins scoring 29 and 23 respectively. Jarrett Orr (Independence) and Zach Hickson (Don Bosco) each earned four pins on the day.

Independence sent five wrestlers to the championship rounds. Chase Straw (152#) and Nick Holt (170#) each stood on the top of the podium. Mitch Evens (120#), Jake Juhl (160#), Matt McMillan (195#) each settled for second.

Don Bosco landed two champions, Gable Fox (106#) and Nick Mangrich  (126#).
