Oelwein Police have arrested two people on illegal drug charges.
At about 5:30pm Friday (April 29), officers executed a search warrant at 37 6th Street NW.

In the process, the residents of the home, 44 year old Tammy Bamford and 40 year old Forrest Spitzer, were taken into custody on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, gathering where controlled substances are unlawfully used, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

The investigation continues, and more charges are expected.

The Fayette County Sheriff and Iowa State Patrol assisted Oelwein Police at the scene.

A Hazleton woman has been arrested following a weekend traffic stop.

At about 2am Sunday (May 1), Oelwein Police pulled over a car in the 10 block of West Charles in Oelwein.

After performing sobriety tests, the driver, 20 year old Elizabeth Minnick, was charges with OWI 1st offense, and not having a valid drivers license.
