Highway Detour Date Moved Up
There is an update on a planned traffic detour for motorists in Oelwein:
Starting at 7am today, Tuesday, July 26th, the area of the 500 block of Highway 150 South in Oelwein will be closed to through traffic, so that repairs may be made to the rail line that crosses the highway at that location.
Traffic will be rerouted from today until about July 29th by the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The detour will be routed from 2nd Street SE and Highway 150 toward South Frederick Avenue, and from the area of 7th Street SE toward South Frederick.
Businesses along the detour route will still be accessible, but through traffic is prohibited.
The original detour date had been set to begin on August 1st, but the date was moved up.
