Harsh Weather Tips Semi Off NE Iowa Highway

Tuesday's harsh weather was apparently a factor in a semi accident east of Oelwein.
Shortly after 2pm Tuesday (Jan. 10), Fayette County Deputies discovered a semi in the ditch, near the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road W-33.

An investigation determined that the driver, 55 year old Blaine Bader, was driving west on 3, when he lost control due to weather conditions. The semi and trailer, owned by Panama Transfer Inc., entered a ditch, where the trailer tipped.

No one was injured, and there was only minor damage.

The Fayette County Sheriff continues to investigate.
