A longtime Oelwein business has taken the first step in moving to a new location, in town.

Arnold Motor Supply has been at it's current location in East Charles Street for 50 years, but owners determined it's time to do a little expanding.

A groundbreaking for the new, larger building was held this (Monday, May 23) morning at the new site on Highway 150 South, just south of the Dairy Queen and north of the Oelwein Historical Society Museum.

Mike Kor, the store manager at Arnold Motor Supply, explained one of the main reasons for the move, is the business continues to grow and there is a need for some extra space.

Following today's groundbreaking, construction on the 12,000 square foot building  will begin, and will be finished, pending weather conditions, late this year.  Matt Construction will be doing the work.

The new Arnold Motor supply will feature some new services.

Presently, the business has been extremely busy.
