Gethen Jenkins sure knows how to make heartbreak into a good time! The old-school country singer takes fans to the barroom in his rowdy new video for "Bottle in My Hand."

"Well, I'm sittin' here drinkin' / Just as hard as I can / Fighting off your memory / With two great big old hands / Y'all just keep your distance / 'Cause I'm a dangerous man / Long as I've got that bottle in my hand," he sings to open the raucous song.

"Bottle in My Hand" is a classic honky-tonk track through and through, with its twangy guitars, pedal steel and lyrics about dealing with heartache in the old familiar way.

“A rowdy Texas shuffle and a song about drownin’ our heartache with beer and whiskey on a Saturday night," Jenkins describes the song. "We know it’s not the answer..but sometimes you gotta get wrong before you get right."

Jenkins has a backstory that's just as colorful as his outlaw appearance. Born in Huntington, W. Va., he was raised in a rural Indian village in Alaska. He also served eight years in the U.S. Marines before settling in Southern California, where he has built a dedicated fanbase.

The singer released a six-song EP titled Where The Honkytonk Belongs in July 2017, and the project gained airplay on Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country, as well as becoming one of the top-selling Outlaw Country albums on iTunes. Jenkins took home both Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year at the California Country Awards in December of 2017, and LA Weekly’s annual Best of L.A. issue recently named him 2018’s Best Outlaw Country Artist.

Jenkins traveled to Nashville earlier this year to record his full-length album with award-winning producer Vance Powell, whose credits include Jack White, Chris Stapleton and Willie Nelson. “Bottle in My Hand” is the first single from that album, which is set for release in the spring of 2019.
