Former Waterloo Man Pleads Not Guilty To Murder

A former Waterloo man has plead not guilty to allegations that he shot and killed his girlfriend. 61-year-old Ronald Rand entered the plea Tuesday.

Authorities say Rand shot his girlfriend Michelle Key at his home on December 13th in Hampton, IA. He testified that he lived in Hampton but used to live in Waterloo.

Court records say Rand told officers he and Key were arguing before she was shot. Rand's bond was set at $1-million. His trial date has not yet been set.
