The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled former Waterloo Black Hawks Vince Hinostroza in front of Saturday's (Oct. 17, 2015) game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

During three seasons in Waterloo (2010-2013), Hinostroza played in 151 United States Hockey League (USHL) regular-season games. He scored 53 goals and 73 assists (126 total points). From 2013-2015, the Bartlett, IL native played in 76 games for the University of Notre Dame tallying 76 points (19 goals and 57 assists).

Hinostroza has scored one assist so far this season in two games for the Rockford IceHogs, the Blackhawks minor league affiliate. He made his professional debut with Rockford last year, earning two assists in five games. His NHL debut came last year when he skated for the Blackhawks in three regular-season games.

Although he has been recalled to Chicago, it remains to be seen if he will make the active roster for Saturday's game. If he does, he will become the 17th former Waterloo Black Hawks player to play in a National Hockey League regular game, and the first since Eriah Hayes (January 2014).

This season, three former Hawks have been on NHL ice: Joe Pavelski (San Jose Sharks), Craig Smith (Nashville Predators), and J.T. Brown (Tampa Bay Lightning).
