Flood warnings continue for the bulk of Northeast Iowa until at least 10pm tonight (Friday, Sept. 23).

This includes the counties of Fayette, Clayton, Chickasaw, Howard, Allamakee, Mitchell, Winneshiek, and Floyd.

It also continues for the nearby Southwest Wisconsin counties of Crawford, Vernon and Richland.

Authorities caution motorists to use extreme care when traveling through the region, expect some detours and closed roads, and never drive into high water.

In Fayette County, there is a road washout near Outer Road and 6th Street NE, just northeast of Oelwein.
