Fletcher Avenue Closed, Other Roads Seeing Minor Flooding

The City of Waterloo has several areas experiencing minor flooding. The situation is causing traffic interruptions and temporary road closures. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Cedar River through Saturday afternoon (Dec. 19, 2015).

Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution when approaching water standing on roadways.

The streets closed to through traffic are:

• Shaulis Road between Hwy 218 and the Isle Casino
• Ranchero Road
• Fletcher Avenue (Gate Closed)

Travel on these roads is not advised and use of alternate routes is highly encouraged. Please be aware that this situation could change rapidly, especially in those areas prone to flooding. These thoroughfares will continue to be monitored and will re-open when safe travel can again be guaranteed.
