Additional Information

Combat Hunger, an event which benefits the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, will take place March 27th – 29th at several locations throughout the Cedar Valley. The weekend event calls for grocery store customers to donate as they shop.

Volunteers and staff of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank will be at area grocery stores in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Waverly including Hy-Vee, Fareway, Hometown Foods and Randall’s in Hudson. Fareway stores will be closed on Sunday.

Shoppers will be given a flyer that allows them to add either $1 or $3 to their total grocery bill when scanned. Shoppers can also make cash or check donations or a donation of food. The total money and food items raised will go to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

“Combat Hunger makes donating to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank simple for the donor and it will help us tremendously” -  Barbara Prather, Executive Director of the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
