Waterloo Black Hawks fans attending Thursday’s New Year’s Eve game against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders can be among the first to experience something new at Young Arena.

Coors Light, Silver Eagle, and the Waterloo Black Hawks have partnered to create the new Coors Light Cold Zone on the concourse at Young Arena.

In partnership with United Beverage and Silver Eagle Harley Davidson of Waterloo, the Black Hawks have completely renovated the former Party Town Outfitters location to become the Coors Light Cold Zone. Located near Section B and overlooking the arena lobby, the area will open for business during all Black Hawks home games. The Coors Light Cold Zone will appeal to sports fans of all stripes, featuring four large HDTV’s which will display live video of Black Hawks games, as well as televised sporting events such as college football, basketball, hockey, and NHL games.

“The Black Hawks have committed to reinvesting profits back into the organization and the facility so that continuous improvements to the fan experience can be made,” noted Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene.

“United Beverage is honored to partner with the Waterloo Black Hawks and Silver Eagle Harley Davidson for the Coors Light Cold Zone,” added United Beverage On Premise Manager and Special Events Coordinator Nick Hedrick. “This great new space was a collective development to greatly enhance the fan experience at each and every game for many seasons to come.”

In the future, the Coors Light Cold Zone will be available for group party rentals as well.

In addition to offering beer, fans enjoying the Coors Light Cold Zone will have the opportunity to purchase mixed drinks for the first time ever at Young Arena. All revenues derived from drink purchases in the 21-and-over area will go directly to the Black Hawks organization.

Good seats still remain for Thursday’s matchup against the RoughRiders, which is part of the Dupaco Cowbell Cup Series. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive half of the 2015/16 Black Hawks player trading card set, presented by Martin Brothers Food Market. The game, presented by Luann Gerber at Revolution Realty and 97.7 KCRR, THE Classic Rock Station, kicks off with a special holiday start time at 6:05 p.m. For tickets, call the Domino’s Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680 or visit waterlooblackhawks.com.
