During Wednesday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Daytona 500 practice , a multi-car accident ended on-track activities early. NASCAR will need to repair the catch fence, and several teams will have to roll out their back up cars for Thursday’s Budweiser Duals qualifying races.

The havoc looked to have begun when Joey Lagono made contact with Matt Kenseth, who also got together during the Spring Unlimited, as a pack of cars entered the tri-oval. Several cars were collected in the melee.

NASCAR Rookie of the Year contender Parker Klingerman got the worst end of the deal. His car ended up riding up and over Paul Menards ride. Then Ryan Truex pushed him from behind. The front end of the Klingerman's car ended up in the catch fence, damaging it, and then he ended up on his rood sliding across the apron.

Luckily, no drivers or spectators were injured.

Those that were involved include: Logano, Kenseth, Truex, Kligerman, Menard, former Daytona 500 champion Trevor Bayne, and Dave Blaney. Cole Whitt, Casey Mears, and Brian Vickers were involved in a early accident. According to NASCAR, six teams planned to move to their backup cars.
