The Iowa State Cyclones (15-4, 3-4) stayed close until the Kansas Jayhawks (16-4, 7-0) were able to pull away late in the game on January 29, 2014.  The Jayhawks superstar freshman Andrew Higgins scored a career-high 29 points to help KU beat ISU, 92-81.

Iowa State pulled to within four points of Kansas on several occasions.  Thanks to a Georges Niang three-point basket, ISU found themselves only one point back.  That's when Wiggins took over the game.

was able to narrow the KU lead to four points on multiple occasions, before finally reducing the lead to a single point when a posted up Ejim found Georges Niang at the top of the key for a 3-pointer to make it 73-72 KU.

Georges Niang led the Cyclones with 24 points. DeAndre Kane added 22 points and Melvin Ejim, battling foul trouble much of the game, finished with 18 points and eight rebounds.

After starting the season ripping off 14 straight wins, Iowa State have dropped four of its last five games.

Next Up: Iowa State returns to Hilton Coliseum Saturday for a match-up against No. 23 Oklahoma. Tip is at 3 p.m., and the game will be shown on the Big 12 Network.
