The Wartburg Knights re-wrote part of their record book during a 55-0 shutout of Buena Vista at Walston-Hoover Stadium in Waverly on Saturday (Oct. 31, 2015).

The Knights set a new single-game school with 431 passing yards during the victory, breaking the old mark of 388 established against Bethel (Minn.) last season.

Senior Logan Schrader (Kildeer, Ill.) threw for 375 yards and was 25-29-1 with a touchdown, while freshman Matt Sacia (Eldridge) was 6-7 for 56 yards. Sophomore Riley Brockway (Postville) had a team-high eight receptions for 102 yards. Senior Mitch Rahm (Wesley) had a team-best 129 yards on six catches and had a touchdown.

Wartburg (7-1, 4-1 IIAC) owned a 573-317 edge in total offense yards and handed the Beavers (1-7, 0-5) their fifth straight loss. The shutout was the fifth in series history by the Knights over Buena Vista, the most Wartburg has against any current Iowa Conference opponent.

The Knights scored touchdowns on each of their first five drives and built a 35-0 halftime lead. Wartburg began the scoring soon after stopping the Beavers on the game's first drive. On their initial possession, the Knights went 97 yards in 10 plays after Tyler Stolen's punt landed at the three-yard-line.

Buena Vista had its best scoring chances in the second quarter, but Stolen missed a 45-yard field goal attempt just minutes into the frame and later turned it over on downs deep in Wartburg territory.

The Knights returned to the field and went 65 yards in six plays on the first drive of the second half. Schroeder completed all five pass attempts on the drive for 64 yards.

The Beavers were in Wartburg territory on four of their five second half possessions -- including twice inside the 20 -- but, they turned it over on downs three times and were intercepted once.

Buena Vista quarterback Tory Beger completed 18-of-31 pass attempts for 213 yards, but was intercepted twice. Ben Sietz hauled in a team-high 10 catches for 123 yards, while T.J. Lint caught six balls for 88 yards. Cody Mowry led the Beavers' rushing attack with 39 yards on 13 carries.

Wartburg's defense held Buena Vista to 68 yards on the ground.

Individually for the Knights, senior runningback Brandon Domeyer (Manchester) had a team-high 39 yards rushing and had two touchdowns. Junior Jake Haberman (Clarion) also had two TDs on 30 yards.

Gunner Tranel (Vinton) led the defense with seven tackles (six solo and two assists) and had two tackles for a loss of nine yards.
