Karter Schult, a senior defensive lineman for the UNI Panthers, has officially accepted an invitation to appear in the 92nd annual East-West Shrine Game.

The college all-star game will be played at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, starting at 2 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on the NFL Network.

Schult, a Tripoli native, is the fourth UNI football athlete to accept an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game, joining Chad Setterstrom (OL, 2003), James Ruffin (DL, 2010) and Xavier Williams (DL, 2015).

Schult's Shrine Game experience will begin on Sunday, Jan. 15 when both the East and West teams will visit the Shriners Hospitals for Children in neighboring Tampa, Fla. Practices begin Jan. 16 and run through Jan. 19. Over 300 NFL scouts and agents are expected to be in attendance.

A silent auction benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children will take place Jan. 18 through Jan. 21 with the Players' Hall of Fame Banquet on Jan. 20.

The week will culminate on Saturday, Jan. 21 when Schult plays in the 92nd annual all-star college football game. The East-West Shrine Game is the longest running college football all-star game, dating back to 1925.
