Robert Knar is leaving the UNI Panthers' basketball program. The sophomore guard plans to transfer to another school at the end of the current semester, Head Coach Ben Jacobson announced on Wednesday (April 20, 2016).

"We appreciate all of Rob's hard work and dedication to Panther basketball," Jacobson said. "He is transferring to put himself in position to expand his playing role. Rob leaves our program in great standing and we wish him the very best."

Knar (Mundelein, Ill.) played in 12 games this past season, a year in which the Panthers won the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Knar saw action in 24 career games at UNI. He scored a career-high six points in the Panthers' 97-51 win at North Dakota on Nov. 28, 2015. Knar red-shirted in the 2013-14 season.
