Time Change Announced For Wartburg Football Game
Wartburg’s Homecoming football game will start earlier than originally scheduled on Saturday (Oct. 14, 2017).
The Knights’ gridiron clash against Loras has been moved to 12:30 p.m. at Walston-Hoover Stadium in Waverly. The kick-off was supposed to be at 1:30 p.m. but was moved ahead one hour due to an increased threat of late-afternoon thunderstorms, Wartburg athletic officials said.
No. 22 Wartburg (5-0 overall, 3-0 IIAC) has won 20 of its last 21 home games dating back to 2013. The Knights lead the all-time series 27-9 and are seeking their 13th-straight win against the Duhawks (3-3, 2-2).
A victory by Wartburg would guarantee a 25th-straight winning season for the Knights, a streak that began in 1993. It’s the fourth-longest active streak in the nation (all classes).
