Iowa Football Season Tickets Renewal Process Begins Today

The University of Iowa Athletic Department announced that there will be no increase in Iowa Football Season tickets prices for 2017. The renewal process begins today (Jan. 3, 2017).

With an attractive home football schedule that includes five opponents who participated in 2016 postseason bowls, the University of Iowa athletics department announced today that season tickets for the 2017 campaign will remain the same as in 2016. General public season tickets for the seven home games will be $405, with faculty/staff season tickets remaining at $335. UI student season tickets are $150, and include all seven home games.

Iowa is launching the season ticket renewal process via email Jan. 3. Season ticket renewal forms will be available online at hawkeyesports.com/tickets beginning Jan. 3. Paper applications will be mailed to individuals Feb. 1.

The renewal deadline for public and faculty/staff season tickets is March 31, 2017. Season ticket holders earn ticketing priority over the general public for single game, special events, and postseason contests, in addition to saving nearly $75 over the total cost of single game prices.

All renewal and new season ticket holders will be provided an opportunity to upgrade and/or select their seating locations based on availability, and will receive selection dates and times in early April. This process will be based on priority point totals and I-Club annual gift membership levels, and will conclude in early May.

I-Club contributions, which fulfill regular and postseason seating and parking requirements, can be made at jointheiclub.com. I-Club gifts made by March 31 will be included in priority points for the 2017 season ticket selection/upgrade process. I-Club contributions -- which provide Hawkeye student-athletes the tools they need to succeed at the highest levels -- must be made by May 31 to ensure proper mailing of season tickets and parking passes. I-Club renewal forms will be emailed in mid-February.

The Hawkeyes posted an 8-4 regular season mark in 2016, winning their final three Big Ten Conference games and winning three of four rivalry trophy games. Iowa placed second in the Big Ten’s West Division after winning the division title in 2015. The Hawkeyes close the season Jan. 2 in the 2017 Outback Bowl, the 10th January bowl game under head coach Kirk Ferentz.

“We are very appreciative for the continued support of our season ticket holders and excited to keep the season ticket price the same as last year,” said Gary Barta, UI director of athletics. “The atmosphere inside and outside Kinnick Stadium is the best in the country and we will continue to work hard to provide a wonderful fan experience.

“We have an attractive home schedule this fall and anticipate a great game day atmosphere for all seven home contests.”

Fans who are not currently season ticket holders and interested in purchasing season tickets will have the opportunity to go online and select seats beginning Jan. 9. The available seats are based on open seats from the previous year.

North end zone season ticket holders will not be impacted for the 2017 football season. The 2017 north end zone season ticket holders -- and any other customer displaced by the renovation project -- will be assigned a time and date for the spring of 2018 to choose their seats before all other season ticket holders. They will have their choice of new north end zone seats or any available main stand seats that were not sold as a season ticket location for 2017. The patron will be required to contribute the required per-seat gift, if applicable, for the respective seats they choose. No new season tickets will be sold in the north end zone for the 2017 season. More information about the Kinnick Edge project, including premium seating options, can be found at www.KinnickEdge.org.

Iowa’s seven-game home schedule includes five Big Ten Conference games. Iowa’s Big Ten home opponents include defending Big Ten champion Penn State (Sept. 23), and College Football Playoff participant Ohio State (Nov. 4). The Hawkeyes host Illinois for Homecoming (Oct. 7), Floyd of Rosedale rival Minnesota (Oct. 28), and Purdue (Nov. 18).

Nonconference home opponents include the season-opening contest against Wyoming (Sept. 2) and a Sept. 16 date with North Texas, two teams that played in bowl games following the 2016 season. Start times and television information are not yet available.
