Due to wet conditions and cold and windy forecast, track officials had decided to cancel the planned practice this Saturday. There will be no make-up date.

The Chamber of Commerce/Signs & More Car Show has been pushed back one week. It will now take place on Saturday April 9. The event will still be held at the Signs & More parking lot (1827 1st Street West, Independence) from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. Race cars need to be parked by 10:00 AM. Two awards in each division (Late Model, Modified, Sport Mod, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Indee Car).

Later that Saturday, the Independence Motor Speedway will open its gates for the first race of the season. Pit gates will open for the Spring Break Season Opener at 3:00 PM. IMCA Modifieds will compete for a $1,000 to win top prize.

Also on the line-up will be IMCA Sanctioned Stock Cars, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks. Indee Cars are also scheduled to race that night. Weekly purse will be awarded for these classes. IMCA Late Models will not start until next week at Independence.

IMCA National, Regional, and State points will be awarded, but there will be no track points awarded on April 9th.

Each car that participates at the car show will receive one free grandstand pass for the April 9 event.
