Dirt track racing star Tony Olson joined us to talk about his win in the inaugural Iowa's Virtual Dirt Track Classic. Olson was the Bill Colwell Ford Main Event winner in the SportMod/Bmod division.

Dirt track racing fans are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports, and it became quite obvious that Olson's fans fit that label. The driver of the #T23 IMCA SportMod garnered more votes than any other driver in all five divisions that were apart of the VTDC.

During the VDTC Post Race Show (video below), the Cedar Rapids native talked about his fans that helped power him to the win. He also talked about the incredible momentum the team felt at the end of the year. Olson earned track championships at Benton County Speedway, Davenport Speedway, and Independence Motor Speedway. His great year also pushed him to the runner-up in the IMCA Northern SportMod National Championship.

Despite that up charge, there was one event in 2015 that he would have loved to shake the bad luck gremlins that seem to ride on his back while racing in it.

It should be business as usual for team Olson when the 2016 season fires up, but he's not feeling the pressure to duplicate last year's outstanding season.

"Honestly, every night we go out there to have fun," Olson said during our VDTC Post Race Show. "What ever happens happens. About mid-season, we were leading at the tracks, but it really change how we drove the rest of the year, and it turned out really well."
