A North Carolina firm is helping the University of Northern Iowa find a new athletic director.

UNI has contracted with Collegiate Sports Associates (CSA) to assist with the search. CSA founder and president Todd Turner will provide leadership as the university moves through the hiring process.

“I am pleased to have Todd’s depth and breadth of experience in helping UNI search for the next director of athletics,” said Michael Hager, UNI's senior vice president for finance and operations and chair of the search committee. “Todd understands the important role of academics in the lives of our student athletes.”

Prior to launching CSA, Turner was a member of numerous NCAA committees and advisory boards. He previously served as athletic director at the University of Connecticut, North Carolina State University, Vanderbilt University and the University of Washington.

Jean Berger is serving as UNI’s interim director of athletics. She replaces Troy Dannen, who left his alma mater after eight years to be the athletic director at Tulane University in New Orleans. Dannen was hired by UNI in 2008 after serving as the executive director of the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU).
