Also that night, two of the Cedar Valley’s favorite home teams will work together to help the Northeast Iowa Food Bank on Saturday, March 26 during a Waterloo Black Hawks home game at Young Arena. On Panther Night, the Hawks will take the ice wearing the purple and gold of the University of Northern Iowa Panthers, backed by mascot T.C. and the UNI cheer squad.

The Hawks announced Monday that the Stanley Cup® would be on hand for the game. The trophy – which has represented hockey excellence for more than 120 years – was last on display in the Cedar Valley nearly a decade ago in 2007.

“On behalf of the Black Hawks organization, I would like to thank the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and the National Hockey League for helping to make this possible,” said Black Hawks Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Greene. “Just about every kid has dreamed of scoring the winning goal and getting to lift the Cup; some of our players will have the chance to do that one day, but we are excited that everyone in the Cedar Valley can have the opportunity to experience a moment with this great link to hockey history.”

Fans are invited to have their picture taken with the Stanley Cup® before and during the matchup against the Gamblers. In addition, the Black Hawks are offering a special “Questions with the Keepers of the Cup” program prior to the 7:05 p.m. contest. From 5:30 to 6 p.m., fans will be able to hear about the Stanley Cup®’s distant and recent history from Phil Pritchard and Mario Della Savia, the trophy’s caretakers. In addition, the “Questions” package will include a game ticket, two Coors Light Cold Zone beverage vouchers, and a professional souvenir photograph for $40. Current Black Hawks season ticket holders are invited to take part for $30. Limited space is available.

For more information about Black Hawks tickets and the “Questions with the Keepers of the Cup” program, call the Domino’s Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680. Tickets for the March 26th game – which is also UNI Panther Night, sponsored by Tyson Fresh Meats – and all Black Hawks regular season home games are on sale now.
