A Few Dirt Track Racing Specials this Weekend in Iowa

Dirt track racing fans in Iowa have plenty of choices this weekend. Now we just need Mother Nature to be one of those fans.

Mother Nature has already scored one win this weekend when Lee County Speedway officials were forced to cancel the opening night of the 2017 IMCA Frostbuster. There is no make-up date for this event.

FRIDAY, APRIL 7, 2017:

Davenport Speedway will host the Rebel 5K. The IMCA Late Models drivers will battle for forty-laps and a $5,000 winner's check. Also racing that night are Modifieds, SportMods, and Street Stock. All are racing for twenty-laps and a $1,000 payday. Pit gates open at 3:00 PM. Grandstands open at 4:30 PM. Hot laps are set for 5:30 PM with racing at 6:00 PM.

Marshalltown Speedway now hosts the opening night of the IMCA Frostbuster. The IMCA Modifieds are the featured class racing for $1,000 to win and $100 to start. IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Hobby Stocks are also on the card. Pit gates open at 4:00 PM. The grandstand gates open to the public at 5:00 PM. The driver draw closes at 6:15 PM, and hot laps will begin at that time. Racing is slated for a 7:00 PM start.

SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 2017:

34 Raceway hosts the IRA Outlaw 410 Sprint Series on Saturday night. Also racing are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods & IMCA Stock Cars. Track points start for all classes on April 8th. Pit gates open 3:00 PM and grandstands at 5:00 PM. Sprint Cars warm engines at 5:45 PM. The sprint drivers meeting is set for 6:00 PM. Modifieds, SportMods, & Stock Cars drivers meeting 6:05 PM. Hotlaps are set for 6:15 PM.

Boone Speedway is the site for night two of the IMCA Frostbuster. Pit gates open at 2:00 PM & grandstands at 3:00 PM. The drier draw and hot laps are both set for 4:00 PM. The green flag waves on the racing action at 5:00 PM. Racing that night are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Hobby Stocks

Independence Motor Speedway pays $1,000 to win and $100 to start for IMCA Modifieds during the Spring Break Season Opener. Also racing are IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, IMCA Hobby Stocks, Indee Cars, and INEX Dwarf Cars. Pit and grandstand gates will open at 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 8 with hot laps slated for 6:00 PM.

West Liberty Raceway brings the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series to the 1/2-mile oval. Pit gates open at 4:30 PM and grandstands at 5:30 PM. Drivers Meeting is set for 6:00 PM, and hot laps are slated for 6:30 PM. Also racing are IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA SportCompact.

SUNDAY, APRIL 9, 2017:

Benton County Speedway is the only game in the state on Sunday. It's the final night of the IMCA Frostbuster, and again it's another chance for IMCA Modifieds to race for a $1,000 payday. Also racing are IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Hobby Stocks. Hot laps are at 4:45 PM.
